The Model 51 is one of Crosley’s oldest radio’s. It was manufactured in 1924. I have the original warranty card stapled to the top cover. It is in mint condition and was purchased from another collector in 1973. I connected two “B” 45 volt cylinder Eveready batteries for plate voltage to the two UV 199 tubes, one “A” 6 volt for the filament and a Brandes Superior headphone to the set. We heard two stations (in Syracuse) AM 620 WHEN and AM 1390 WFBL. While tuning, the selectivity was poor but each 5 KW station was loud.
